Dr. Leah Sitler is from San Diego, and went to UCLA for her undergraduate training in biochemistry and Spanish. She volunteered in Honduras where she became interested in medicine and working with Spanish-speaking communities. Prior to medical school, she worked with a community center and health market in South-Los Angeles while getting her Master’s degree in global medicine. She went to Penn State for medical school and came back to California for residency in pediatrics at UC Davis. During her residency training, Dr. Sitler worked at the county clinic with refugee populations and did research in the area of equitable access and child abuse evaluations. Dr. Sitler is passionate about global health, advocacy, and believes that families from all backgrounds deserve high quality medical care.
