Coping & Support

Did you know that 1 in 5 of us will experience a diagnosable mental health condition in our lifetime? And many more of us experience stress on a day-to-day basis.
At MCC, behavioral health providers are part of your primary care team. We are available to help you reach your goals and achieve better health. We are a team of licensed mental health professionals trained in brief evidence-based treatments for a wide range of concerns. Examples of some of the reasons people see us include: stress, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, weight-loss, medication adherence, grief/bereavement, coping with new medical diagnosis, parenting concerns, acute trauma, and more.

Psychotherapy & Psychiatric Services

Psychotherapy, or “talk therapy”, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental health concerns and emotional difficulties. Working with a psychotherapist can help you better manage troubling symptoms by teaching you coping tools to improve your overall sense of well-being.

Marin Community Clinics’ behavioral health providers are trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as: cognitive behavioral therapy, problem solving therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness based techniques. We offer individual counseling as well as psychotherapy groups. Our team of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners offer brief medication management for a wide range of behavioral health concerns. Medications can help address symptoms of mental health disorders, so you can function better.

Complex Care

If you have a particularly difficult or unmanageable amount of health related issues on your plate – we have a team ready to help you! Marin Community Clinics cares for the whole person. Beyond physical well-being, we recognize the important role that factors such as stress, life circumstances (job, finances, housing), family issues, & psychological distress, play in over-all health and well-being. We offer a host of case management programs available upon referral by your primary care provider.

Recovery & Addiction

Smoking, drinking, and using drugs can lead to problems at home, in school, and with your health. At Marin Community Clinics we have a team of recovery and addiction specialists ready to help you get connected to the care you need. We offer screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment for addiction. Our services also include Medication Assisted Treatment (or MAT) as part of Marin County’s Hub and Spoke model, and in partnership with Marin Treatment Center. Our recovery specialist will work with you to identify areas for change and help you create a plan for achieving your sobriety or risk reduction goals.
