Our Mission

To improve the health of our patients and community by providing high quality, cost-effective, culturally sensitive, patient-centered health care.

Marin Community Clinics has provided compassionate and affordable health care to uninsured and low-income residents of Marin County since 1972. We have grown from humble beginnings where volunteer physicians and nurses saw patients in church basements, to a 21st century provider with modern facilities, expert paid physicians and nurses, the latest technology, and sophisticated diagnostic, treatment and prevention programs. Today, we serve more than 38,000 individuals every year in clinics spread throughout Marin County.

As the largest community health center in the County, we play a major role in Marin’s health care network, serving patients with insurance as well as those who are ineligible for insurance coverage.

Marin Community Clinics provides a full range of primary health care as well as dentistry, behavioral health, obstetrics & gynecology, family planning, optometry, chiropractic, and several specialty services.

Partnered with the Tamalpais School District to provide health screenings and services at Tamalpais District high schools.

Expanding in Novato

Purchased and built a clinic adjacent to the Novato clinic, adding 21 medical exam rooms, 9 dental suites, a phlebotomy laboratory and radiology suite.

Adding X-ray Imaging to San Rafael Clinic

Radiology opened at the San Rafael Clinic, providing on-site x-rays, improving efficiency and patient convenience.

Adding Dental to Novato

A dental clinic was opened in Novato, enabling MCC to double the number of oral health visits. 29,000 patients visited MCC for almost 100,000 visits.

Moving into San Rafael and Adding Dental Services

Thanks to community support a third clinic was built in the canal neighborhood of San Rafael. This enabled MCC to open it’s first dental clinic.

Changing Our Name

Marin Community Clinics added the plural to reflect multiple sites. Services reached 16,000 patients with nearly 50,000 visits. A capital campaign was launched to increase capacity.

Compassionate Health Care for our Community

Marin Community Clinics is an independent, nonprofit organization that is a vital part of the healthcare network of our community. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we serve patients from all walks of life. Our patients include those who are employed and have private health insurance, people enrolled in Covered California plans, people covered by public insurance programs, and those with limited or no health insurance. No one is turned away and charges are based on each individual’s ability to pay.

Thanks to the community support and government reimbursement that we receive, thousands of uninsured women, men, teens, and children have access to medical and dental care. As a result, more children and adults are receiving regular check-ups and are immunized, employees can stay healthier, and medical problems are addressed before they become life-threatening, and costly to treat.
