Dr. Iris Jovel (she/her) was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in an El Salvadoran-American family. Inspired by her family’s and her own experiences living in two cultures and two languages, she uses these perspectives as a motivation towards a career addressing health disparities. She hopes to mitigate a sense of “otherness”, and create a welcoming environment for all patients and families.

Dr. Jovel is passionate about the empowerment of individuals in their own reproductive health. Her practice philosophy emphasizes fostering a collaborative relationship with each patient to provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and personalized care. Her areas of interest include family planning, abnormal uterine bleeding, prenatal care, gender care, and cervical cancer screening.

Outside of medicine, her personal interests include hiking, backpacking, and exploring the vast culinary scene in the Bay Area with friends and family.
