Congratulations to our 2026 Community Health Champions! Thank you for all you have contributed to the health and well-being of Marin County’s residents.
Susan L. Adams, PhD, RN, NP— former Marin County Supervisor, nurse, and PhD — has been a transformative force in advancing health care access in Marin County. Her leadership helped create the Marin Health and Wellness Campus and championed equitable care through local, state, and national policy work. In 2002, she founded the Summer Solstice event to support the Marin Children’s Health Initiative, entrusting Marin Community Clinics to carry that legacy forward in 2005. Two decades later, MCC serves more than 38,000 Marin residents and Summer Solstice has grown into its largest annual fundraiser.
David Sperling, MD — a retired cardiologist, served Marin Community Clinics from January 2019 to December 2025. Over six years, his contributions extended from securing critical cardiovascular funding for uninsured patients to supporting staff recruitment and clinic operations — leaving a lasting impact on MCC’s patients and community.
