A Moment of Reflection
This Annual Report offers a chance to pause, reflect, and appreciate the progress we’ve made together. At the same time, it reminds us of the ongoing need for accessible, high-quality care in every part of our community.
Strength in Community
As you explore these pages, I hope you feel proud to be part of the Marin Community Clinics family. Your support fuels our mission of care, compassion, and progress.
Milestones That Matter
In 2024, we grew in both size and impact. With generous donor support, we renovated our Fourth Street Dental Clinic in San Rafael. This upgrade expanded oral health services for adults, including those living with HIV/AIDS and those experiencing homelessness.
We also opened a new 2,500-square-foot medical clinic at Vivalon in downtown San Rafael. This location now offers immunizations, reproductive and behavioral health services, and more. We expect it to serve 8,000 visits each year.
Another milestone was the launch of our Diabetic Retinopathy Camera Project. We deployed eight cameras across our clinics and screened more than 400 patients in two months. This early detection program is already helping patients protect their vision.
Leadership in Transition
In fall 2024, Kathie Powell, MA, MSHA, stepped in as Interim CEO. Her leadership brought stability and direction during a pivotal time. We are grateful for her service.
I also thank my fellow board members. Their dedication made it possible to lead a thoughtful national search for our next CEO—while continuing to guide MCC forward.
We’re excited to welcome Brenda Shipp, MBA, CHCO, OHCC, as our new CEO. She began her role on May 1, 2025.
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
On behalf of our Board, staff, and volunteers—thank you. Your support allows Marin Community Clinics to provide life-changing care for more than 38,000 people each year. Together, we are building a healthier future for all.
