Who can get the vaccine?
Talk to your doctor if you have questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines have been approved by everyone 6 months and older. We encourage you to get the vaccine, particularly if you are at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness. This includes people 65 and older, people who are pregnant, or those who have medical conditions. Learn more about people at increased risk for illness.
I’ve already had COVID-19, should I still get vaccinated?
If you’ve had COVID-19, you may have some protection (immunity) from the virus, but we don’t know how long that will last. Without vaccination, your immunity may decrease over time. Visit the CDC website for more information.
What are the side effects of the vaccine?
Some people may experience mild to moderate headache, tiredness, muscle aches, pain, fever, or swelling in the injection site. These side effects typically last 1 to 2 days and are a sign that the body’s immune response is working. For more information on vaccine side effects, visit the CDC website.
I already have the Flu/RSV vaccine, do I need to wait to get the COVID-19 vaccine?
There is no recommended waiting time between getting a COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines. Please visit the CDC page for more information.
What can I do to continue staying safe if I’m not yet vaccinated?
People who aren’t vaccinated can make sure to avoid others who are sick, wash their hands, and keep a distance when around other people. For a full list of recommendations, visit the CDC website.
