His extensive experience working with underserved and minority patient populations has made him uniquely qualified to identify links between diabetes and depression and anxiety. With diabetes becoming an epidemic among low-income Latinos, African Americans, and seniors, Dr. Popat’s call to action asks medical professionals to do more to address the psychological issues associated with the disease.
