Dr. Southard is a Family Medicine physician with special interest in treating the entire family and has particular interest in wellness, meditation, diabetes prevention, and medical education.
She believes it is important for patients to take an active role in their health and therefore approaches patients as partners, working with them to achieve small changes towards better health overall.
An osteopathic doctor, she received her degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of California (San Francisco), Fresno campus. Professionally, she has also served as a behavior therapist and family support worker in the area of child abuse prevention.
Originally from the Midwest, she has lived in California for 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising and photography with her husband. Dr. Southard speaks some Spanish.
