Joy is originally from the Midwest and she moved to San Francisco to pursue graduates studies in Social and Cultural Anthropology at California Institute of Integral Studies. After obtaining her Master’s Degree in Anthropology, she gained her MSW from San Francisco State University, with a focus in Individuals, Families and Groups.
As a Licensed Clinical Social worker providing Substance use and Behavioral Health support to adults, she is able to focus on many facets of patient care. Now as the Recovery Specialist , she is working closely with other community providers to offer comprehensive, informed and compassionate care. Joy has worked in adult mental health for 10 years in a variety of settings from clinics, hospitals to forensic facilities. Joy’s goal is to offer empowering, sensitive and thoughtful health care.
In her spare time, Joy enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music and watching films.
