Janelle Torres, LCSW has worked in a variety of settings providing clinical and social work including a domestic violence shelter, a homeless shelter, an elderly home, elementary and middle school based settings, and at nonprofit community based agencies. Janelle has worked with Child Protective Services case managing court cases of abuse and neglect as well as doing additional work for Adult Protective Services and Juvenile Probation.
Janelle has provided individual, family and group therapy in English and Spanish to children and adults for about 5 years. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in psychology in University of Puerto Rico and her masters in Social Work at University of California Berkeley. Janelle feels passionate about empowering individuals, strengthening self worth, teaching positive coping skills, and helping individuals develop resiliency.
In her free time Janelle likes dancing Bhangra as well as a variety of Latin dances. Janelle also likes to exercise, read and spend time with her family.
