Dr. Pujals, an adult health physician, has special interest in the environmental, spiritual and cultural influences that contribute to health. She views medical care as a partnership between the provider and patient, and enjoys advocating for patients and supporting them in making informed decisions. She believes that patient care is a human right that should be accessible to all.
A native of Florida who has lived in Puerto Rico and Colombia, she is fluent in both English and Spanish. In addition to the practice of medicine, she also has experience in HIV prevention research and has served as field manager for several international medical relief organizations. She is the recipient of several awards for her work in international health.
Dr. Pujals received her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Carib School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed her residency in family medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She also holds a Masters of Public Health in Global Health from George Washington University (Washington, DC).
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and music.
