Robert Goldfien

Dr. Goldfien grew up in Mill Valley and eventually moved back there in 1988 after completing his Residency and research fellowship in San Diego. He was a Rheumatologist for Kaiser Permanente in Richmond and Oakland for 27 years while taking on several leadership roles including Chief of Medicine in Richmond, Assistant Physician in Chief for East Bay, and Chair of Rheumatology for KP northern California. Dr. Goldfien has a special interest in the management of gout as well as in Rheumatology practice quality improvement and value-driven care. He joined MCC in 2018 and has enjoyed all his patients and colleagues. He lives with his wife Miriam, a Family Physician and is pleased that their son Gabriel is a Family Medicine Resident at John Muir.
