Jamie Sanders is an ANCC board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of UCSF’s Masters Entry Program in Nursing for non-nurses pursuing advanced nursing degrees. Jamie completed two Bachelors of Arts Degrees, one in psychology and one in English, at the University of Washington in Seattle. After graduating from UW, she spent time working in a research lab at Stanford University in the Department of Neurobiology studying the brain and behavior. She transitioned to clinical work as a behavioral therapist working with children and adolescents with autism, developmental delays and ADHD utilizing play-based therapy, social skills development and behavior modification to optimize learning and development.

Jamie takes a holistic, strengths-based approach to providing mental health care working with patients to optimize both medication and non-medication treatments. She is both an advocate and partner in her role as a Psychiatric NP and works to foster resilience, improve self-esteem and help patients connect with their inner strength and unique talents to achieve wellness. She is passionate about providing exceptional quality care to all individuals that celebrates and honors each person’s unique experience and identity.
