Meet Melanie Thompson, DO
In November, Dr. Thompson was appointed Regional Medical Director for our San Rafael and Campus clinics. She has been working at Marin Community Clinics as a family physician for four years.
Dr. Thompson first heard about the Clinics through a friend. Marin Community Clinics’ mission and breadth of services spoke to her desire to make the community more equitable for everyone. Raised by a single parent and having worked hard as a young adult while in school, she understands many of the struggles our patients face and feels a strong connection with them.
“I have great appreciation for our patients and so much humility for my job,” explains Dr. Thompson.
Dedicated to Improving the Patient Experience
One of Dr. Thompson’s goals is to improve the patient experience by ensuring that all Clinics’ staff are aware of how integral their role is in patient care.
“Dr. Thompson is an extraordinary clinical leader who is committed to providing superlative health care and to improving the health outcomes for the people we serve,” says José Chibrás, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Thompson holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at UCSF Fresno. She also completed the Train New Trainers Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at UC Irvine / UC Davis.
