Volunteer at Marin Community Clinics!

Everyone benefits when neighbors help neighbors. We welcome volunteers from the medical profession and from the general community. Our volunteer opportunities are:

Medical specialists

Our clinics depend on many clinicians who generously give their time, free of charge, treating patients at our clinics in their area of specialty. If you are a physician or other health care professional and would like to volunteer at our clinics on a regular basis, contact: Dr. Georgianna Farren, Chief Medical Officer at gfarren@marinclinic.org

Collecting books for pediatric patients

Marin Community Clinics participates in the nationwide Reach Out and Read program. We distribute books to our pediatric patients, and their siblings and friends who accompany them, during their visits as our way of encouraging literacy and education. Our pediatricians reinforce parents’ role as the first and most important teacher in their children’s lives, encouraging them to read aloud to their children during the critical early years of cognitive and language development

We welcome donations of books for children and teens of all ages. Our greatest need is for books for children 5 years of age and younger. Bilingual English/Spanish books are especially appreciated.

If you have new or gently used (like new) children’s books to donate, please call 415-798-3109 or drop them off Monday – Friday from 10am – 5pm at one of the following locations:

MCC San Rafael Clinic – 3110 Kerner Blvd, San Rafael

MCC Novato Clinic – 6100 Redwood Blvd., Novato

Collection ideas include:

  • Set up a collection bin in your school, office, church or other community gathering spot
  • Put up signs, write a newsletter article or make an announcement at a meeting to tell your group where the collection bin is located.

Volunteer fundraising activities

Generous and creative volunteers can get together with friends, neighbors, co-workers, congregation members or teammates to raise money to benefit our services. Fundraising suggestions include:

  • Host a party in your home with a guest speaker from our clinics
  • Hold a benefit yard sale with your neighbors
  • Request a donation from your service club, congregation, or employer
  • Be creative!
