Collecting books for pediatric patients

We distribute books to our pediatric patients during their visits as our way of encouraging literacy and education. Our pediatricians strive to reinforce parents’ role as the first and most important teacher in their children’s lives, encouraging them to read aloud to their children during the critical early years of cognitive and language development. Books for all ages are needed and bilingual books are especially appreciated. Collections ideas include:

  • Set up a collection bin in your school, office, church or other community gathering spot
  • Put up signs, write a newsletter article or make an announcement at a meeting to tell your group where the collection bin is located
  • Collect children’s books and bring them to either of our clinic locations during regular hours

Volunteer fundraising activities

Generous and creative volunteers can get together with friends, neighbors, co-workers, congregation members or teammates to raise money to benefit our services. Fundraising suggestions include:

  • Host a party in your home with a guest speaker from our clinics
  • Hold a benefit yard sale with your neighbors
  • Recruit a team of your co-workers to walk in the Marin Human Race
  • Request a donation from your service club, congregation, or employer
  • Be creative!
