Director of Development

The Director of Development (DD) is a new position, overseeing a fundraising program that augments earned income MCC derives as an FQHC. Today, the fundraising program generates approximately $1 million and will grow substantially to meet the increased demand for community-based healthcare. MCC has a large base of annual donors and was successful in its capital expansion campaign that raised more than $10 million in 2007-08 to expand its clinic network. The DD will be a member of the organization’s management team and report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee an emerging Development department, comprised of a full-time Development Associate and a part-time grants officer.
  • Create the annual strategy, work plan, and Case for Giving targeted at increasing unrestricted, contributed revenues by 15% in year 1, 25% in year 2, 40% in year 3 and 25% in year 4.
  • Serve as the organization’s Major Gifts officer.
  • Work closely with and provide support to the CEO with the stewardship of Major Donors and major donor prospects.
  • Devise and oversee a recognition and stewardship program for all donors.
  • Provide direct professional leadership and support to the Development Committee of MCC’s Board of Directors.
  • Oversee and grow MCC’s direct mail fundraising program and other mass-market fundraising.
  • Supervise development and submission of unrestricted foundation and corporate grant proposals.
  • Advise on the development and submission of designated or restricted program grant proposals.
  • Advise on the content and messaging of MCC’s written and electronic communications such as newsletters and web-based content.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a first-stage Planned Giving program.
  • Evaluate the fundraising potential of proposed “special projects” such as one-time capital needs and develop strategies for their implementation.
  • Assign or engage persons to implement fundraising events or other gatherings that will engage donors and donor prospects.
  • Utilize and enhance the information management systems of the fundraising program; Conduct an annual evaluation of fundraising as part of the annual plan .

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a professional capacity with a diverse nonprofit fundraising program
  • Knowledge of Marin County, its communities and its leaders
  • Ability to engage directly with donors and donor prospects as an ambassador of MCC and its fundraising program
  • Ability to work in a team environment in general and in support of the CEO in particular
  • Experience with Raisers Edge or comparable donor information management systems
  • Administrative skills sufficient to create and oversee reporting, planning and analysis functions

Phone Triage Nurse

This fulltime, bilingual (English/Spanish) Phone Triage Nurse will work in our busy Call Center located in our San Rafael clinic. He/she will provide first level triage care to incoming callers seeking to make an appointment at our clinics, and must be comfortable processing telephone calls and patient inquiries of a medical nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote wellness and informed decisions by assessing needs, providing health information, and coordinating care and advice regarding information on medication, therapies and resources.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Nursing. Current California RN license. CPR certified
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills are required
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse with demonstrated competence in all aspects of nursing care and independent decision making
  • Experience in telephone triage, emergency medicine, adult/pediatric ambulatory care, home health care, or ICU preferred
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to use windows based computer software
  • Ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations
  • Ability to interact with multiple and diverse consumers
  • Requires interview/communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within approved procedure and clinical guidelines
  • Ability to assess age specific groups from birth to geriatrics

CPSP Case Manager (Part Time - 16 hours/week)

Reporting to the Women’s Health Director and CPSP Case Manager Supervisor, this position entails Client Orientation to Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program, Initial Assessment, Trimester Reassessments, Post-Partum Assessments, Interventions, and Case Coordination for pregnant women. Specific components of CPSP Program include: Nutrition, Health Education, Links to WIC Program, Mental Health Services, Family Planning, and Pediatric Care. The position is located in the San Rafael Campus Clinic.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face to face interviews with all prenatal patients.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service and increase patient access to CPSP program.
  • Accurately screen clients upon entry to care for high-risk and/or urgent medical conditions that need to be triaged by OB RN or provider.
  • Assure all client charts are documented whenever telephone and face-to-face contact is made.
  • Provide ongoing orientation, assessments, and classes. Make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Conduct Pregnancy Testing and Counseling and Family Planning Counseling.
  • Ensure all patient appointments for care establishment and return visits are made.
  • Case manage prenatal program, including reviewing chart at each visit, as well as periodic audits of all prenatal patient charts to ensure quality of care.
  • Attend recommended job related trainings provided by CPSP program.
  • Assist Women’s Health Director in data collection and reporting.
  • Obtain full knowledge of MCC Emergency Protocols.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Minimum 1-year paid Perinatal (OB-GYN) experience
  • Experience with CPSP Program is highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently, identify, and prioritize tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with clinical setting
  • Strong facilitation skills, experience leading presentations or workshops
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to document in Electronic Health Records

Call Center Operator/Scheduler

This position is the entry point for most Marin Community Clinics patients.
As such, a high level of customer service must be practiced. Members of
the Call Center team must be calm, helpful and supportive while assisting
patients and other callers. Members of the call center team will assist
patients in their request for services, schedule appointments, update demographic information, and otherwise ensure a satisfactory and
productive visit to MCC. The position is full time, located in San Rafael.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent Marin Community Clinics through positive, courteous and professional patient contact.
  • Adhere to the strict HIPAA law regarding health information protection.
  • Effectively and efficiently answer, screen and route calls utilizing a multi-line phone system.
  • Make patient appointments utilizing the practice management system data base appointment scheduler.
  • Maintain integrity of patient data by verifying and correcting information within practice management system.
  • Ensure appropriate patient scheduling according to Call Center Appointment Rules.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints and proactively problem solving.
  • Conduct daily patient appointment confirmation phone calls as necessary.
  • Correctly respond to inquiries about the organization and provide callers with address, directions and other information.
  • Route all incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Work with team, maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality, and superb customer service.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including filing, typing, maintaining records, and other misc. duties.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma with excellent, professional interpersonal and telephone skills in both English and Spanish; BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH IS REQUIRED
  • Prior call center experience is preferred and/or prior experience in a medical office setting
  • Must have demonstrated experience serving under-privileged clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to competently work in a team environment and support co-workers Requires high level of initiative and the ability to follow-through on assignments independently to completion
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to take on and/or learn new, additional duties such as being cross trained to other positions

  • Ability to represent the Clinic in a very professional manner to the public is a must as is the ability to handle patient issues with confidentiality, tact and sensitivity


Medical Assistant

The Resource Medical Assistant is cross trained in all functions of the clinic including, but not limited to, front office, appointment desk, phones, medical records and case management. The candidate must possess an interest in all aspects of clinic operations and be able to function in multiple roles and be able to multi-task.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent MA curriculum from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical assistant certification preferred.
  • Current CPR.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.

Family Practice Physician

Novato Clinic

Marin Community Clinic is seeking a Physician (Full or Part time) with an emphasis on Family Care practice.

The physician provides quality primary care to patients of MCC, consistent with her/his training and expertise, and appropriate to the ambulatory care setting provided.

Requirements:

  • A valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine.
  • A current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs.
  • A current BLS certification.
  • The willingness and ability to follow clinic policies, objectives and mission established by regulations, grants, management or the Board of Directors.
  • Proficiency in medical Spanish.
  • Certification by an appropriate specialty Board.
